Honors Fellowship recipients conduct 10 full-time weeks of pre-Honors research this summer under the mentorship of their faculty advisor. Students will then expand on their Honors Fellowship by completing a two-semester, six-credit research project. Each Honors project culminates in a thesis and oral defense.
Completing an Honors project can be one of the most academically rewarding experiences of a student's undergraduate career.
The Charles Center is able to fund 70+ Honors Fellowships each year because of the generous support of our donors. Students often forgo the opportunity to participate in undergraduate research because of financial constraints. Honors Fellowships allow W&M's most courageous scholars to fully focus on their research over the summer.
Each William & Mary Honors Fellowships donation supports the whole Charles Center Honors Fellowships Fund. Donations inspired by specific research projects are distributed by the Charles Center in a way that benefits that project and others.
