Description: Using four case studies from 'developing' countries, this project seeks to assess whether the 'global sustainable development consultancy? Arup aligns their sustainability commitments and theory of Total Design with the practical implementation of their urban megaprojects. The question of whether sustainable urban design and development is truly sustainable is of utmost importance in a neoliberal economy where states seek effective solutions to climate change and urban environmental stress on shortening timelines. The insights gleaned from this thesis could be applied to a multitude of global companies to promote corporate accountability in the fight against climate change.
