March 10th is WCU's Charter Day!
While 1871 may have marked the first day of class, it was even earlier that the Normal School at West Chester was officially chartered as a training academy for elementary school teachers. On March 10, 1870, the Pennsylvania General Assembly passed an act โto authorize the Trustees and Contributors to the West Chester Academy to become a State Normal School."
To mark this historic moment, we are celebrating our 2nd Annual Charter Day of Giving. Make an impact by making a gift to the area of campus that means the most to you. From investing in our students, to technological advancements and creating opportunity across campus, join in with your gift today!
Want to encourage your friends or peers to make a gift for WCU Charter Day of Giving? Create a match or challenge today!
