A scholarship can be truly transformational for a student and their family. Your support of scholarships in the College of Health Sciences is an investment in the success of a future healthcare professional. Beyond the classrooms and laboratories, the College of Health Sciences is engaged in the broader community in a number of ways. A few examples of our involvement include the Ram Chefs Program, Camp Abilities Program, and the Center for Contemplative Studies.
Ram Chefs connects young adults with developmental disabilities with nutrition students for one-on-one meal prep and cooking lessons. From teaching food preparation skills to shopping and selecting ingredients, the program is empowering and impactful for all participants.
Camp Abilities PA @ WCU is an educational sports camp for youth who are blind or have low vision. The purpose of the camp is to empower children to be physically active, improve their overall health and wellness, encourage them to make food choices that support an active lifestyle, and develop their confidence and self-esteem through sport and physical activity.
The Center for Contemplative Studies has as its mission to create a culture for students, faculty, and the community to understand, apply and create a contemplative approach to life and learning. The vision is to improve physical and mental health and wellbeing within the West Chester University community.
