A New Home
Through the generosity of our community partners, the UAB School of Engineering will soon have a new home on the University’s campus. After years of being housed in multiple locations, the SOE will relocate to the new Frances and Miller Gorrie Hall, with ribbon cutting scheduled for Summer 2025. In this iconic, highly visible facility located near University Boulevard and the Campus Green, the SOE will establish a world-class home to match its ambitions.
In addition to the transformative impact this new building will have on student enrollment, faculty recruitment, and research acceleration, it will also serve as an $80 million investment in our students’ success and preparation for careers in engineering.
Naming Opportunities
In order to build our new home, we need your financial support to name spaces in the new building.
We currently have space naming campaigns underway to honor our “founding faculty”, as well as department-based space naming campaigns.
We hope that you will contribute to the campaign that means the most to you. The amount we’re able to ultimately fundraise from alumni, friends, and family for each of these campaigns will determine the type, location, and size of space we will be able to fund. These will range from:
- Offices ($30,000+)
- Meeting Rooms ($45,000+)
- Classrooms ($165,000+)
- Labs ($165,000+)
