Dr. Dale Feldman

For decades, Dr. Dale Feldman has been one of the most beloved Professors at UAB Engineering, inspiring an environment of remarkable caring and loyalty that few other faculty members could hope to match. Dr. Feldman has focused his research and teaching on Biomaterials and Biomechanics, specifically tissue engineering, wound healing, polymers, and degradable materials for orthopaedics. He’s published 42 research articles as well as created numerous papers in these areas. He’s served as primary mentor for over 40 students, many of whom have gone on to great success in a vast array of engineering-related fields. He’s earned renown as an expert witness in legal cases ranging from biomechanics to medical devices.

While his research and academic accomplishments have been groundbreaking and significant, it’s been his personal relationships with his students that has made his work special at UAB Engineering. So many of his students have spoken about the relationship of caring and trust which made their collaboration with Dr. Feldman unique and treasured.
