Gifts to Student Emergency Fund contribute to...
The Hamline University Student Congress and Patti Kersten, Dean of Students invite you to join them in supporting the Student Emergency Fund. We are seeking to raise $10,000 during Piper Funding week, and we need your support to get there.
A generous anonymous Hamline Alumni will match the first $2,400 donated in support of this fund, so make a gift to this incredibly important fund today and double the impact of your support.
The Student Emergency Fund provides financial assistance to students experiencing a financial crisis. Students can receive up to $500 to put towards non-Hamline-related bills, such as rent, utility payments, food, medical bills, or car repairs. Between August and December of 2023, nearly 30 students requested assistance from the Hamline Emergency Fund. These students are experiencing financial distress due to various factors. Most commonly, students have been unable to work their usual hours due to an illness or medical procedure, need to make repairs on their vehicle, have outstanding medical bills, or are unable to maintain commuting expenses due to inflation. Receiving assistance from the Student Emergency Fund reduces the stress from an unexpected financial issue, allowing students to stay focused on their studies and remain enrolled in school.
Last year, the Hamline Undergraduate Student Congress contributed $10,000 to the Student Emergency Fund, displaying an incredible commitment to supporting students with limited financial resources. Please follow the example of Hamline student leaders, support the Student Emergency Fund today, and ensure Pipers can stay on track and graduate.
