The Apiary is a project that is part of our Center for Environment and housed at the College's Field Station (50+ acres preserve on the campus grounds). It provides our students with hands-on experiences in not just science, but entrepreneurship as they hope to harvest and sell the honey. Additionally, a 'cross-pollination' with digital media courses has taken shape as well--with students maintaining an Instagram account about the project. Dollars to this fund will help support the creation of Honey Hut and additional resources needed to make this a viable and profitable opportunity for our students.

Donor dollars will go directly to the funds above and immediately impact the health, stability and vitality of Westminster College and her students! Specifically, depending on the size of your gift, you could be contributing to the purchase of necessary gloves for each student ($20/each), bee keeping jackets ($50/each), hives ($275/each), processing bottles ($300), or contributing to the nearly $15,000 cost to build a honey hut with potable water, electric and shelving.
