Giving Tuesday at UNC Asheville is about ensuring every student has what they need to stay, thrive, and succeed. Today, many Bulldogs are navigating unexpected challenges that threaten their ability to remain enrolled, from food insecurity and mental health needs to sudden financial emergencies.
This year, disruptions to SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits have placed additional strain on more than 200 students who rely on this support. Your generosity helps keep our students supported and on track to graduation.
And the need for your support continues as we work to ensure every student can fully participate in their UNC Asheville education.
Give to the Food Equity Initiative to ensure students have consistent access to nutritious groceries and essential supplies. With SNAP disruptions and rising food insecurity, demand for support continues to grow year after year.
Give to the Student Emergency Fund to assist Bulldogs facing unexpected crises such as a loss of income, medical emergencies, or the death of a family member. These timely resources help stabilize students during difficult transitions and prevent emergencies from disrupting their education.
Give to the Health & Counseling Center to expand access to mental health counseling, psychiatric care, and psychological testing for students who otherwise cannot afford it. Supporting mental wellbeing supports academic success and student retention.
Give to the Area of Greatest Need to provide flexible, immediate support wherever student needs are most urgent, strengthening the safety net that helps students remain in school.
When students’ basic needs are met, they stay connected, stay engaged, and stay enrolled.
Since 2016, more than 3,200 Bulldogs have contributed over $700,000 through Giving Tuesday to build a stronger, more resilient campus community. Whether you give $10, $100, or $227 (the average gift since 2016), your support changes lives, one student at a time.
