GVSU Student Philanthropy Week 2024

Time to celebrate passing our campaign donor goal of 150 donors! 🥳

Thanks to donor support, student organizations at GVSU will have more funds to help them reach their goals this academic year. Let's keep up the momentum until midnight on Sept. 30, when the campaign ends.

We had so many amazing Lakers participate in our scavenger hunt and cash cart events. Thanks to generous support from Lake Michigan Credit Union, the students gave $2,500 back to the groups participating in Student Philanthropy Week. The event winners are as follows:

Scavenger Hunt - Donations Awarded:

Cash Cart - Donations Awarded:

Rowing Club = $400
Children’s Enrichment Center = $350

Dance Team = $50
Cheer Team = $50

This week's on-campus events have been a blast! 

Monday, students across majors and disciplines connected with the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy to learn more about careers in the non-profit field. Tuesday, students made over 110 seed balls, which will help to plant pollinating flowers on campus. Wednesday, students found several scavenger hunt items across the Allendale, Pew, and Health Campuses. Thursday, GVSU staff are picking up students to play Cash Cart.

Thank you to all of the Lakers who have participated so far this week. Also a huge thanks to the Sustainable Agriculture Project for their partnership on the seed ball event, and to Lake Michigan Credit Union for their generous support of the scavenger hunt and cash cart!
