The Hamline A Cappella Choir is looking to raise $2,000 during Piper Funding Week to expand the cultural perspectives within our choral music library. A strong choral program should introduce students to a wide range of musical voices, experiences, identities, and artistic perspectives. Hamline University’s choral library should reflect that breadth.
Donations of all sizes are welcome, and we encourage you to consider the following amounts:
- $100 purchases one new piece of music for the entire choir.
- $25 purchases one new piece of music for one section (Sop, Alto, Ten, Bass) of the choir.
- One copy of music for one singer averages $3. We need 35 copies of each piece to support the entire choir, director, and accompanist.
These new works will become part of our permanent collection, giving current and future singers the opportunity to encounter exceptional music from our time that they might not otherwise experience. They will also help us build a more vibrant, relevant, and inclusive choral program while supporting composers whose voices deserve a place in the musical canon.
Your gift will directly put new music into the hands of student singers and help shape the repertoire they carry with them long after they leave the choir. Help us give the A Cappella Choir this valuable experience and donate today!
