ππ€ PLUβs Bjug Day of Giving 2025 π€π
β October 14-15 β
Join us for the 12th Annual Bjug Day at Pacific Lutheran University!
This philanthropic tradition unites Lutes from around the world to make a difference for students and their communities.
Now more than ever, donor support is essential to helping PLU students thrive. Recent changes to WA stateβs higher education budget will significantly reduce state financial aid and scholarships for low-income students to attend private, nonprofit universities, such as PLU.
Every dollar matters. Your support for scholarships (or anything you love at PLU!) will reduce barriers, expand access, and help provide a values-driven, purposeful PLU education.
So join thousands of other Lutes in making Bjug Day an incredible show of support for PLU students.
Together, letβs reach 2,025 supporters in 2025!

π£π€π $ for $ Scholarship Match is LIVE! ππ€π£
...and even more match opportunities will be revealed soon.
Bjug Day is the best time to make your generosity go even further.
During Bjug Day, a scholarship match — provided by a generous group of donors — means that you can give to what you love AND have your gift matched with a gift to student scholarships.
Scholarships are key to the access, success and well-being of most PLU students. At a time where the future may seem uncertain, your generosity can provide stability and support.
π Check below to see which match opportunities are live now! Make your gift by October 15 to take advantage of a match. π
ππ 2,000+ Lutes gave to what they love ππ
Thank you for your part in supporting students, today and always.

Right now is your β° last chance β° to be part of Bjug Day. Make a gift of any size to anything you love before 11:59 pm PDT tonight, and youβll be part of this joyful tradition of supporting PLU students. πWeβre SO close! Can YOU get us to 2,025 donors in 2025?! π

Scroll up to see the new matches! When you make a gift to students before midnight, your gift can be matched.π Thatβs 2x the impact for students! π
Remember: Bjug Day ends tonight, so itβs the last day to double your impact.

So many of you have already come together to support PLU students. If youβve made a gift, thank you! If not yet, you can still join a larger movement thatβs helping students access a PLU education and achieve their full potential. π§βππ€π
The fun continues tomorrow. Help us reach 2,025 Lutes strong for 2025!

βMy internship with Microsoft helped me confirm that I want to build my career in software engineering. I enjoy product design and the larger vision of technology, but I realized that the moments I enjoyed most were when I was debugging an error, improving a piece of code, or making a system run more smoothly. These experiences showed me that I thrive in engineering roles where I can see the direct impact of my work.β
~ Abel Legesse β26, Computer Science Major, Data Science & Economics Minor
Internships are powerful and can help Lutes turn a dream into a reality. Abel also shared that βbecause of the support, I could approach each day with focus, energy, and commitment, rather than splitting my time between my professional work and financial worries. That freedom allowed me to take full advantage of the experience, to attend networking events, stay late when needed, and push myself to learn as much as I could.β
As you get ready to give to what you love next week, one option can be the PLU Internship Fund, which helps cover expenses of internships for students. Give the gift of important career experience and your donation can be ππ€ DOUBLED! π€π

Thank you to Jim '78 and Jane Fredricksen in memory of Bill Crooks for providing this internship match that supports Lutes as they explore career opportunities and discover pathways for their futures.

βWe support PLU because of the tremendous opportunities and friendships that the school has provided and continues to provide our βohana. Our classmates are lifelong friends. Our education has prepared us for lives of service to others. We are eternally grateful for PLU. Go Lutes!β
~ Troy & Jackie Andrade ('07), PLU Alumni
π An early Bjug Day match is here! That means that when you give today, your gift can be matched $ for $. You can be one of the leading Lutes to make a gift and inspire others to support students too. π

Students are back on campus, and the energy is buzzing! As a current Lute described it:
βI truly love every moment of PLU. The positive atmosphere, the countless learning opportunities, and the passionate professors have all made a huge impact on my experience. One of the things I appreciate most about PLU is the people. Every time you walk through campus, youβre greeted by a smile or a friendly βgood morning!β Whether itβs students or staff, everyone is so welcoming.β
Hereβs the secret: an early Bjug Day match is already live. That means you can make an early gift to Bjug Day that can be matched $ for $, doubling your support for students!
