Winthrop Basketball 2026 Season Kickoff

Winthrop Basketball is ready to build on the momentum of the past several seasons, and Eagle Nation has an opportunity to make a direct impact on the future of both our Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs.

From championship contention and postseason success to individual conference honors and recognition, Winthrop Basketball continues to represent our University at a high level. Our programs have established a tradition of competing for championships in the Big South while developing student-athletes who represent Winthrop with pride on the court, in the classroom, and throughout our community.

From October 19 through November 2, we are asking Eagle fans, alumni, former student-athletes, families, and friends to rally behind both programs as we tip off the 2026-27 season.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 for Men’s Basketball and $10,000 for Women’s Basketball, with a primary focus on supporting revenue sharing opportunities for our student-athletes. As the landscape of college athletics continues to evolve, these resources are increasingly important in helping Winthrop attract and retain talented student-athletes and provide our programs with the support needed to compete for championships.

The campaign leads directly into an exciting opening day for Winthrop Basketball on November 2. Men’s Basketball will tip off its season at the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center, while Women’s Basketball will begin its season that same day inside the Winthrop Coliseum!

This is an opportunity to do more than celebrate the start of another basketball season. It is an opportunity to invest directly in the student-athletes who wear Winthrop across their chest.
