As a University that was founded to provide an education for those who would not necessarily have the opportunity to receive one, we continue that mission to provide an education to all those who seek to do so. One of the unique ways Wilkes continues to draw those who are the first in their families to earn a four-year degree is through the First Generation Scholarship Fund.
Established one decade ago, the First Generation Scholarship Fund provides support for tuition, fees, textbooks and course materials for first generation students. Over half of our incoming first-year students identify as the first generation of their family to attend a four-year institution of higher learning, making this fund a top priority at Wilkes.
