The Purple Basket is Westminster’s campus food pantry, providing students with access to nutritious food and essential items to help address food insecurity and gaps in basic needs. In a welcoming, confidential, and destigmatized environment, students can access groceries, hygiene products, and household supplies at no cost, so they can focus on their education and well-being

By reducing financial stress and removing barriers to access, the Purple Basket supports student success, retention, and overall wellness. Gifts to the Purple Basket help maintain a reliable stock of food and essential items throughout the year, ensuring students have consistent access to the resources they need to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

One Westminster Day Events

On Tuesday, March 3, we are hosting a screening of Home Turf, a college campus–based romance filmed on campus in 2025.

This special screening is part of One Westminster Day, our annual day of giving, and offers alumni and friends an opportunity to celebrate Westminster while supporting the students and programs that make our community thrive.

Location: Gillmor Hall

Reception with Heavy Appetizers: 3:30–6:30 p.m.

Film Screening: 6:30–8:00 p.m.

We look forward to welcoming Westminster alumni and friends for an afternoon and evening of connection, conversation, and celebration.

Join us on Thursday, March 5, in the Shaw Student Center for the Project Partner Showcase. Connect with project partners, students, and members of our advancement team as you experience the energy and impact of One Westminster Day firsthand.

As part of the celebration, students are invited to participate in a campuswide scavenger hunt, collecting toy ducks to redeem for “Duck Bucks.” These Duck Bucks can then be directed as gifts to the project of their choice—giving students a fun, hands-on way to engage in philanthropy and support the programs that matter most to them.
