Honors College: City as Text

Westminster’s Honors College is launching City as Text, a high-impact learning program that turns cities into immersive classrooms. Through faculty-led experiences in cities across the U.S. and around the world, students learn to “read” a place through observation, listening, mapping, and reflection, connecting classroom learning to real communities and real-world challenges.

City as Text experiences help students explore culture, history, health, environment, and systems of power and place while building critical thinking, cultural competence, and ethical leadership. Rather than learning about cities, students learn in them, gaining a deeper understanding of how a place shapes opportunity and responsibility. Your gift supports faculty training and launches a sustainable program that expands learning beyond the classroom.
