Department of English Student Opportunities 📚

Gifts to the Department of English provide flexible support for the department’s greatest needs, helping fund scholarships, financial aid, awards, and enriching academic experiences for students.

Support also strengthens two important student‑driven programs:

• Sigma Tau Delta, the national English honor society and an active department organization, provides study sessions, writing workshops, and opportunities for students to present their original work at national conferences. This year, 19 WMU students will present at the national conference in New Orleans — the highest number ever.
• Donations also support Third Coast, the department’s nationally recognized literary magazine. Produced by graduate students and supported by undergraduate interns, the publication offers hands‑on experience in editing, publishing, and literary production.
