Giving Day 2025

Not only did we pass our goal of 2,000 donors for Giving Day 2025 - but we also raised more than 2 million dollars for our amazing students, brilliant faculty, groundbreaking research, and critical urban programs, which move Detroit and our world forward.

Matches Met: 

✅ The CFPCA Alumni Council matched $500 for the CFPCA Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship.

✅ Jennifer Gustafson matched $500 for WSU’s Dolly Parton Imagination Library.

✅ Eboni Ford Turnbow, PhD matched $250 for the For the Culture Scholarship.

Challenges Met: 

✅ 10 donors made gifts to the Mathematics Annual Fund unlocking $40,000 from Avi Schreiber.

✅ 15 donors made gifts to the School of Medicine, between 7pm-9pm, unlocking $25,000 from an anonymous donor.

✅ 5 donors made gifts to the School of Medicine, between 9pm-11pm, unlocking $15,000 from an anonymous donor.

✅ 10 donors made a gift to the Wayne State NOBCChE Chapter unlocking $100 from Tamara Hendrickson.

✅ 25 donors made gifts to the Department of Political Science unlocking $25,000 from Leda Hall.

✅ 25 donors made gifts to the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences unlocking a $10,000 gift from the Board of Visitors.

✅50 donors made gifts to the College of Nursing unlocking $2,000 from Dean Ramona Benkert.

✅ 70 donors made gifts to the School of Medicine, between 10pm-1pm, unlocking $90,000 from an anonymous donor.

✅25 donors made a gift to the School of Social Work unlocked $13,750 from Saunteel Jenkins and Carl Bentley.

✅The Freer House and Garden raised $3,500 on Giving Day unlocking $2,000 from Lillian and Walter Dean and the Garden Club of Michigan.

💚 Challenge: Once the Freer House and Garden has raised $3,500 on Giving Day, a $2,000 gift will be unlocked, thanks to generous leadership match contributions from Lillian and Walter Dean and the Garden Club of Michigan! Only another $355 needed to reach this challenge goal! 

💚 Challenge: Once 25 donors make a gift to the School of Social Work, a generous gift of $13,750 from Saunteel Jenkins and Carl Bentley to support the next generation of social workers will be unlocked! Only another 5 donors needed to reach this challenge goal! 

💚 Match: Double your impact! Dean Sheryl Kubiak is providing a dollar-for-dollar match for gifts to the School of Social Work – up to $10,000! Only another $4,000 needed to reach this match goal! 

💚 Match: Multiply your impact! Dr. Irvin D. Reid is providing a 1:1 match for gifts, up to $1,500, to the Dean Corvino Endowed Scholarship, in memory of his mother, Mrs. Annette Corvino. Only another $623 needed to reach this match goal!
