About

Anchored in Belonging. Powered in Community.

Giving Day 2026 marks Vanderbilt’s 10th Giving Day—ten years of collective generosity.

Your Giving Day gift to the Bishop Joseph Johnson Black Cultural Center strengthens a vibrant hub of culture, connection and support. The BCC fosters belonging, celebrates Black history and culture, and ensures that students have the resources and community they need to thrive and dare to grow.

Why It Matters

Your Giving Day support will:

  • Enhance belonging and connection by expanding cultural programming, signature events and community-building initiatives that support student experiences
  • Increase access and opportunity by supporting the BCC Annual Black History Immersion Excursion and other transformative learning opportunities that deepen students’ understanding of history, leadership and civic engagement.
  • Remove barriers to opportunity by supporting a student’s participation in the annual Immersion Excursion and strengthening student-centered resources that promote resilience, support and personal growth.

Gifts will also support continued facility enhancements to make sure that the BCC continues to be a welcoming, dynamic space for gathering, dialogue and celebration.

Celebrating 10 Giving Days
For 10 Giving Days, Vanderbilt donors have shown up to support the students we serve. Because of that generosity, the BCC keeps expanding its impact by creating spaces where students feel seen, supported and empowered. Ten Giving Days in and your participation keeps the momentum going.
