About

The agriculture, forestry, and commercial fishing work sector experiences the highest fatal injury rate at 19.5 deaths per 100,000 full‐time workers, compared to a rate of 3.6 deaths per 100,000 workers for all U.S. industries.

  • Tractors are the #1 cause of farm fatalities.
  • 80% of deaths caused by tractor rollovers happen to experienced farmers.
  • 1 in 7 farmers involved in tractor overturns are permanently disabled.
  • 7 out of 10 farms will go out of business within 5 years of a tractor overturn fatality.
  • Agriculture had the leading number of occupational fatalities across industries for youth aged 17 and younger from 2011‐2020.
  • Tractors and ATV/UTVs are the leading sources of fatal events among working youth.

Donations are used to provide rebates for tractor rollbars and seatbelts for people on the National ROPS Rebate Program waitlist in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. All donations go directly to protecting producers from tractor overturns. Donations can be made for specific states. Donors will receive annual notification of retrofits made with their contribution to the program.

Donors will be recognized on the SW Ag Center website, through an annual NRRP press release, on social media, and through the SW Ag Center email newsletter.
