Celebrate the Life and Legacy of a Beloved Professor and Mentor

For 42 years, Professor Mike Rolleri was a defining force at the University of New Haven. He didn’t just teach accounting — he inspired students, led academic, and built lasting connections that opened doors for hundreds of graduates.

As a partner at Whelan, Rolleri & DePietro, Mike brought real-world insight into every class. As Chair of the Department of Accounting, Finance, and Marketing, and as Chair of the Faculty Affairs Committee, he shaped both student outcomes and university leadership. His mentorship, professionalism, and dedication earned him accolades like the Outstanding Faculty Teaching Award (2017) and the Dean’s Excellence in Service Award (2020) — but his greatest legacy is in the lives and careers of the students he supported.

We now have the opportunity to honor Mike in the way he would have valued most — by helping students. When we reach our goal of $50,000, we will establish the Professor Mike Rolleri Endowed Scholarship, a permanent fund supporting accounting students in the Pompea College of Business.
