Through extensive partnerships with the offshore wind and local fishing industries, SMAST’s graduate students and faculty engage in large-scale research projects, ranging from biogeochemical cycling and coastal ecosystem restoration to marine renewable energy and windfarm development. Their groundbreaking work is advancing marine science and technology, strengthening the SouthCoast’s Blue Economy, and providing innovative solutions to the critical challenges facing our coastal environments.
