We are the Climate Conscious Corps, a sustainability-focused student group at the Josef Korbel School of Global and Public Affairs, who are passionate about engaging and educating the DU and Denver communities about the many interconnected ways climate change affects us all.
We think outside the box, creating innovative events and experiences that address environmental justice, water rights on the Colorado River, rare earth mineral extraction, climate-driven conflicts, and more! Thanks to your support, the CCC has educated students on climate-related issues. It has allowed us to host events such as last year’s conference, quarterly hikes with Dean Mayer, volunteer experiences, and meetings with employers.
We are currently planning the second annual University of Denver Climate Conference on May 22, and we need your help! Your efforts over the last year have brought, and continue to bring, our full vision to life. Your support will help us:
- Increase 2026 Conference Participation: Current funding allows 100 participants to attend at no charge and covers modest complimentary food. Help us increase our registration capacity to 250 people!
- Ensure 2026 Conference is Zero-waste: Our goal is to leave no trace. Often, the most affordable dishware and plasticware are made from single-use plastics and other wax-coated non-compostable products. Help us pay a little more so we can practice what we’re advocating for every day!
Your gift to the Korbel Student Sustainability Initiatives Fund will empower CCC to deliver a dynamic and engaging conference, and any additional support beyond the conference budget will enhance other CCC initiatives throughout the year. Thank you!
Our goal: $3,000 Raised
This is our second fundraising campaign, so we set a realistic goal while still dreaming big. While we could put additional funds to great use, this is what is needed for the conference. Thanks for helping us get there by giving an amount that’s meaningful to you.
Making a Difference: We are at a crucial time when climate action is desperately needed. As priorities change, what remains is our need for solidarity to address what is impacting our community. We invite you to be a part of our journey to create lasting change.
