Rubyfruit A Cappella

Rubyfruit is an all-treble a cappella group at the University of Connecticut dedicated to empowering women through music, community, and performance. Founded in 1999, Rubyfruit was created as a space where treble voices could be heard, celebrated, and uplifted. Today, we continue that mission by bringing together students who share a love for music, connection, and self-expression. We welcome treble-voiced students of all ages and backgrounds at UConn to audition at the beginning of each semester.

For more than 25 years, Rubyfruit has shared our music throughout UConn and the broader community. We perform at campus events, showcases, competitions, community celebrations, private events, and collaborative performances with other artists and a cappella groups. These opportunities allow us to connect with new audiences, represent our community, and create meaningful experiences through music.

Our repertoire spans a wide variety of genres, combining strong musicality with energetic performance and genuine connection. Beyond performing, Rubyfruit is a community where members support one another, grow as musicians and individuals, and form lasting friendships. At the heart of everything we do is our founding purpose: to create a space where women can find their voices, uplift one another, and feel empowered through song.

Any additional funds will be used for the general activities of the group.
