Osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and rheumatoid arthritis—three of the most prevalent bone and joint diseases—currently have no cures. However, research shows that early diagnosis and intervention can significantly improve patient outcomes over time.
At the McCaig Institute for Bone and Joint Health, a multidisciplinary team of scientists, surgeons, engineers, clinicians, and health system researchers are creating innovative solutions that accelerate diagnoses and advance treatments for musculoskeletal conditions. The SPARC (Scientists Partnering for Research with Clinicians) Ignite Grants foster collaboration between scientists and clinicians, providing seed grants to accelerate innovative research in bone and joint health, with the potential to transform care and improve patient outcomes. This year, donations to SPARC grants are being double matched to triple the impact.
