WriteOn

WriteOnNYC! is a New School Fellowship program giving selected MFA candidates in Creative Writing hands-on, paid teaching experience, while providing New York area middle and high school students with high-quality educational opportunities. WriteOn develops two communities simultaneously. First, we offer creative writing and literature courses to underserved area school children. Second, we prepare MFA students for careers in teaching and non-profit work, while giving them much needed financial support throughout their graduate studies. A gift to WriteOnNYC helps prepare TNS graduates for post-MFA life, while immersing their young charges in the joys of literature and the creative process. As Vicky Gottlieb, our founding donor, is fond of saying: “WriteOn is 360 degrees of good.”
