Support the Speech-Language Pathology Program

Leadership, advocacy, compassion, reflection and teamwork…. These are the characteristics we strive to develop in our students. As a department, we nurture and cultivate the growth of these essential skills on their journey to become licensed and certified speech-language pathologists.

Our department empowers students to become unstoppable by fostering a team-oriented culture. The department encourages collaboration, problem-solving and critical thinking skills and supporting one another throughout the two-year program. This strong team approach empowers students to build confidence as they acquire the knowledge and skills to enter professional practice. The students excel in working as a team and are unstoppable in what they will achieve!

Last year, your donations helped fund standardized patients for our graduate students during their fall 2024 semester. Funding for standardized patients was essential to support the student acquisition of skills in the speech-language pathology program. This year, your donations will help fund students’ attendance at the annual American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Conference in Washington, D.C., in November 2025. By attending the conference, our students will have the opportunity to network with professionals and peers in the field, gain valuable knowledge and skills in the assessment and intervention of communication and swallowing disorders and develop advocacy skills while understanding the importance of service within the profession.
