Help to make a difference by supporting student employment at the Zuccaire Gallery. Students who are part of the gallery team gain real-life experience as:
- Gallery attendants
- Exhibit installers
- Workshop and educational outreach staff
These employment opportunities provide students the experience to gain knowledge and real-life skills in a contemporary art gallery environment. Please consider helping to support their efforts and make a difference in their college experience.
- "The Paul W. Zuccaire Gallery’s student internship program provided me with the support, resources, practical work experience and transferable skills to be successful in my career beyond Stony Brook. Through gallery management, public programming and public speaking opportunities, I learned to hone my oral and written communication skills and apply my attention to detail in service of a community and an organization’s goals. I am particularly proud of planning and implementing 15 public events with a cohort of students who were all equally committed to developing programming that engaged a wide array of audiences. This opportunity allowed me to focus on completing my education while gaining valuable work experience on campus, so I personally understand the value and impact of paid internships and hope that these opportunities continue to be available for students at Stony Brook.” —Daneris

- "Zuccaire Gallery treats student workers as colleagues, involving us in exhibition and installation planning, grant writing and public programming. The hands-on experience provided a real-life education that no classroom alone could offer — seemingly rare opportunities in other postsecondary institutions. Looking back at my time at the Zuccaire Gallery, I am deeply grateful, for it is not only an art space but one for relationship-building, meaningful conversations and professional advancement.” —Juliet
- "My experience as an education intern at the Zuccaire Gallery is one that I hold in high regard. It provided me with the space to collaborate with a diverse group of interns, where I gained valuable knowledge and skills on how to design and run successful online and in-person programs. This rewarding opportunity allowed me to confidently explore various roles and learn through hands-on experiences, further fueling my passion for informal education and museum work. The lessons that I learned through this internship continue to shape the work that I do now as a professional museum educator at multiple institutions across New York City.” —Grace
- "Working at the Zuccaire Gallery was the most pivotal learning experience for me while attending Stony Brook, and has continued to benefit my career even four years after graduating. Through my involvement with the gallery, I cultivated mentorships and connections that I still deeply value.” —Cici
