Southern’s Earth Science courses are grounded in hands-on field and laboratory-based learning. Faculty and staff are highly engaged in teaching and research with undergraduate students. With our department located in the new Academic Science and Laboratory Building, Earth Science students are offered a magnificent environment that is conducive to both effective instruction and cutting-edge research.
Specialized laboratories, indoor rock wall, outdoor rock garden, and more, are all available to Earth Science students.
The Relyea Endowed Earth Science Fund support earth science students interested in a meaningful career that has a positive impact on the planet and the people around them. Gifts to the fund will enhance the Earth Science program including, but not limited to travel, field trips, conferences, stat-of-the-art software, research material and related endeavors.
