The Arts & Sciences Research Fund provides funding for faculty-led research collaborations with students. At least 25% of each award must go to support the students. To date, the fund has supported student-faculty teams conducting archaeological research at the Henry Whitfield State Museum, promoting peer-tutoring to improve reading skills in area elementary schools, performing bat research in Belize, exploring biodiversity at a fjord in eastern Iceland, and participating in the UNFCC COP28 in Dubai. These funds—all raised through annual giving—have, over less than two years, transformed the lives of seventeen students! From the student who presented a paper at the Council for Northeast Historical Archaeology to the student who presented a paper at the International Bat Research Conference, this funding has a tremendous impact on the intellectual growth of our students. It has already enabled seven of them to participate in scholarship internationally. Please consider donating to the Arts & Sciences Research Fund for this year’s Day of Caring. There is even a match: a generous match of $2,000 from former Interim President J. Philip Smith.
