THE HEART OF SMITH
POWER NEILSON LIBRARY: WHERE TEACHING, LEARNING AND COMMUNITY UNITE.

More than just a building, Neilson Library is where ideas take flight. This is why it is so critical that Neilson keep up with the needs and expectations of students and scholars today and in the future. We are in the midst of an extensive library renovation project led by acclaimed designer Maya Lin that will embody Smith’s bold vision for the 21st century, creating new opportunities for intellectual exploration, innovation and discovery.

We invite you to be a part of this exciting project by donating during the month of June. Gifts will stretch far beyond new desks and bookshelves. They’ll create a space that informs, inspires and unites us all.

LET'S POWER THE NEW NEILSON TOGETHER.

Please give as generously as you can today!

Choose from one of four designations to make your gift today:

Resourceful Smith

A hub of activity on campus, Neilson Library is a unifying space where teaching, learning, and community collide. Smith is in the midst of advancing Neilson for 21st century students with extensive renovations led by acclaimed designer Maya Lin. Be part of this exciting initiative by giving to Resourceful Smith.

The Smith Fund (General)

The Smith Fund is a driving force on campus. It sustains all that makes Smith exceptional and equips Smithies to realize their power for good. When you make a general donation to The Smith Fund, you powerfully and imminently impact Smith by helping us meet our most urgent needs.

Essential Smith

Being a Smithie means experiencing a thriving and diverse campus life. Donations to Essential Smith fund the financial aid of countless international, non-traditional, and financially disadvantaged students who make the Smith experience so meaningful. They also support the facilities and student organizations that make our community special. With your support, Smith's remarkable student body can continue to flourish on campus and beyond.

Ada Comstock Scholarship

Throughout her life, Ada Louise Comstock 1897 demonstrated her commitment to the education of women. Donations to Ada Comstock Scholarship support the financial aid of a diverse group of women who faced the interruption of their education and have come to Smith to complete their experience. With your support, these remarkable students, ranging in age from their 20s to their 60s, can have the opportunity to fulfill their potential as part of the Smith community.

Smith College: Challenge Met!

Great news!

Thanks to the support of alumnae, parents, and friends of Smith College like you, we have officially met the $120,000 challenge from Susan Termohlen '72, Joan Butler Ford '55, Francie Pepper '62 and an anonymous member of the class of 1968. More than 2,800 contributions were made to Smith during the month of June.

Because of the high volume of activity on 6/30, and the 4th of July holiday, we are continuing to finish data entry of offline gifts. We will update this site (GiveCampus: https://www.givecampus.com/sch...) with the final dollar and gift totals in the next few days.

Thank you to everyone who supported The Smith Fund in June, and throughout our 2016-2017 fiscal year.

The Heart of Smith: Stay Tuned for the Final Results

While The Heart of Smith campaign officially ends at midnight Eastern on June 30, staff at Smith will be busy tallying all of the fiscal year-end gifts for a few days. Thanks to all of you, we are seeing a tremendous amount of gift activity, so it will take a bit to get caught up.

Please keep checking back—we will continue to update the website as we work through the gift entry process. We anticipate that we will be able to announce our final totals in a week or so.

Smithies: Making Things Happen!

Since June 1, Smithies have stepped up big time for The Smith Fund.  In fact, 1,837 Smith alumnae, students, parents and friends have already donated more than $750,000 this month! This goes a long way toward getting The Smith Fund to its fiscal year end goal of $13 million and toward providing the facilities, organizations, services and financial aid that Smith students rely on. Thank YOU for your support of our Heart of Smith efforts!

To help us reach our year end goal, another generous group of alumnae have pooled their money to offer one last challenge gift.  Joan Butler Ford '55, Francie Pepper '62, Susan Termohlen '72 and an anonymous member of the class of 1968 will give a combined $120,000 to Smith if we can meet our June 30 goal of 2,800 donors this month!

You can help us today too by sharing this information with all of your Smith friends and classmates to help push us to a strong finish. When you are signed in to your GiveCampus account, you can use the unique URL that is created for you and then track your success on the Advocates tab.

Thank you for your continued support of Smith and The Smith Fund. Onward to June 30!
