Greetings from Saint Michael’s! Fall has arrived in full color and campus is buzzing with the excitement that a new school year brings. Our students are deep into their academic pursuits and taking advantage of the many opportunities and activities available on and off campus. This is a very busy time of year for the Department of Athletics – all 21 varsity programs and 450+ student-athletes are in motion, either in season or preparing for their respective seasons.
This year marks the sixth Purple Knight Challenge, our biggest annual athletics fundraiser. We have had tremendous success over the past five years, raising over a half a million dollars for Saint Michael’s athletics! To build upon that momentum, we have an exciting challenge this year: if 1000 donors give to the PK Challenge, a Saint Michael’s Trustee will give $20,000! Help us unlock these funds with a gift of your own today.
Your support is critically important and makes a real difference in the experiences of our student-athletes. Like the generations of Purple Knights who came before them, our student-athletes are shining examples of Saint Michael’s, proudly representing our College in competition, in the community, and in the classroom – where, for the fourth time in our history, we reign as the nation’s leader in NCAA Division II Academic Success Rate!

As someone who has enjoyed the great privilege of being part of our College’s athletics program for many years, I can’t think of a better way to honor the legacy of those Purple Knights who came before – and those who will represent Saint Michael’s varsity teams long into the future!

Dear Purple Knight Family,
It is with heartfelt enthusiasm that I say thank you for your tremendous support of our 21 varsity teams through the PK Challenge. Together, 1,787 donors raised $298,923 for our programs – an amazing display of generosity for the 450+ student-athletes who balance academics and athletics to enhance their Saint Michael’s experience. They not only make the College proud, but they bring joy and camaraderie to the local community and with their teammates, classmates, and friends.

This is it – today is the final day of the PK Challenge!
To build upon the incredible momentum we have seen over the past week, we have another exciting challenge. From now until 11:59 pm EST, October 24, an anonymous donor will match all gifts dollar-for-dollar, up to $60,000.
What does this mean? All gifts to PK Athletics (to any team/designation) will automatically be doubled; it’s that simple.
