Gifts to Visual Arts and Performing Arts (VAPA) contribute to...
With your generosity, we can provide our students with more opportunities to explore their creativity, cultivate their talents, and showcase their artistic expression.
🎨 Art Supplies: Your support enables us to ensure that our students have access to a wide range of art supplies, including paints, brushes, canvas, paper, pencils, clay, sculpting tools, and more. These materials are essential for our students to experiment, create, and bring their artistic visions to life.
🎹 Musical Instruments: Your contribution helps us maintain a diverse collection of musical instruments including: piano, guitars, drums, and brass instruments. With access to quality instruments, our students can develop their musical skills, participate in ensembles, and express themselves through music.
🎭 Costumes and Props: Your generosity allows us to acquire costumes, props, sets, and other theatrical materials needed for our drama production. These elements enhance the theatrical experience for our students and provide them with opportunities to immerse themselves in storytelling and character development.
🎶 Sheet Music and Performance Rights: Your gift enables us to purchase or rent sheet music for our music classes and performances, as well as obtain performance rights for theatrical productions. Access to a diverse repertoire of music and scripts enriches the learning experience for our students and allows them to explore different genres and styles.
Thank you for believing in the power of the arts to transform lives.
Congratulations Gracia Hoffman '92!!!! She guessed right!
The vintage and treasured SJND varsity jacket I was privileged to sport belonged to the one, the only, the legendary Mr. Phil Gravem!
Mr. Gravem was one of the first lay teachers St. Joseph's hired in 1964. Mr. Aiello being the first. Some of his roles were: social studies department chair, the athletic director, Vice Principal and Dean of Students.
Today, you can always find Mr. Gravem at our school events and on his daily walks here in Alameda.
