Gifts to Science contribute to...
SJND’s Sciences Pathway inspires students to explore human physiology, medicine, research processes, and bioinformatics through hands-on experiments, learning activities, and projects that prepare them for college and careers in science.
Resources are a critical components to our numerous science programs ranging from biology, chemistry, environmental, marine ecology, forensics, and physics
Your support of any amount will help fund the program’s needs such as:
🔬 Laboratory Equipment: Purchasing and maintaining laboratory equipment such as microscopes, Bunsen burners, balances, beakers, and test tubes for conducting experiments and demonstrations.
🧪 Chemicals and Consumables: Buying chemicals, reagents, solutions, and other consumable supplies necessary for conducting experiments and lab activities.
🥽 Safety Equipment: Providing safety goggles, lab coats, gloves, and other protective gear to ensure the safety of students and staff during laboratory experiments.
📖 Professional Development: Providing opportunities for science teachers to attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions to stay updated on the latest developments in their field and improve their teaching methods.
Overall, investing in SJND’s science program ensures that Pilots receive a comprehensive and engaging science education that prepares them for future academic and careers in STEM fields.
Congratulations Gracia Hoffman '92!!!! She guessed right!
The vintage and treasured SJND varsity jacket I was privileged to sport belonged to the one, the only, the legendary Mr. Phil Gravem!
Mr. Gravem was one of the first lay teachers St. Joseph's hired in 1964. Mr. Aiello being the first. Some of his roles were: social studies department chair, the athletic director, Vice Principal and Dean of Students.
Today, you can always find Mr. Gravem at our school events and on his daily walks here in Alameda.
