Rise to Teach is a scholarship/student support program with a special focus on recruiting individuals from historically underrepresented communities to the teaching profession. The program is a partnership between PCC, Portland State University, Portland Public Schools (PPS), and Beaverton School District (BSD), and offers students who are committed to becoming teachers a supported pathway to earn their degrees starting at PCC and finishing at PSU. The majority of our students are first-generation college students.
Since the scholarship only covers tuition, your gift assists us in providing PCC students with small emergency grants to students who encounter financial difficulties to help them be able to continue their education, and with stipends to help cover the cost of books and other curriculum materials.
Join us as we work to raise $2,500 for the Rise to Teach on Big Give Day by making a gift now!
Be sure to encourage your friends to do the same by sharing Big Give Day on social media using the hashtag #PCCBigGiveDay.
