Lucy Giffin

Hi!

My name is Lucy Giffin, and I am a sophomore at Olivet Nazarene University. I am studying Elementary Education and have recently added a minor in Intercultural Studies. I am involved in several different things at Olivet, including Aspire Academic Mentoring, Clay to Crown, and I am a Resident Assistant in Williams Hall. I am very passionate about teaching and leading children, but I also have a strong heart for missions and leading people to Christ.

This coming spring break, Shalom Project is organizing several ministry trips, and I have the incredible opportunity to travel to Nicaragua! Nicaragua is a small country in Central America situated between Honduras and Costa Rica. Nicaragua is a beautiful country known for its terrain full of lakes, volcanoes, and beaches. My team will be partnering with One Collective as a short-term team with the goal to fuel the long-term work of meeting physical and spiritual needs in Nicaragua. We will be working with churches, farms, and schools within the community of Masatepe to provide English Education, evangelistic practices, and farm help. The main goal is to build relationships within the community and experience Nicaraguan life and culture while spreading the love and power of the Gospel.

While this is a very exciting opportunity, I will need help raising the funds necessary to make this possible if you would be willing! Any funds you can give would be greatly appreciated, but more than anything I would really appreciate your prayers during this the time leading up to the trip and especially while we are in Nicaragua.
