Gifts to Evelyn Gelacio contribute to...
¡Hola! My name is Evelyn Gelacio, and I’m a junior majoring in Elementary Education with an ESL minor. This year, I have the privilege of serving as a second-year Resident Assistant for freshman girls, and I’m also involved in the Hispanic Student Christian Association (HSCA) and Kappa Delta Pi (KDP). These roles have shaped me in so many meaningful ways; helping me grow as a leader, deepen my faith, and better understand how to serve others with compassion and grace.
This spring, the Shalom Project is leading several ministry trips, and I’m excited to share that I have the opportunity to return to Nicaragua from March 7–14! Our team will be partnering with One Collective, joining their ongoing work to meet both physical and spiritual needs in the community. We’ll be serving in Masatepe, building relationships, encouraging local families, supporting churches and community programs.
We’ll also have the privilege of experiencing Nicaraguan culture through home visits, shared meals, worship gatherings, and time spent learning from the people who call Masatepe home. I’m eager to serve, to grow, and to continue learning from a community that has already impacted my life so deeply.
I’m truly grateful for this opportunity, and I would love your support as I work toward my fundraising goal. If you feel led to give, please donate here. Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and generosity. I can’t wait to see how God moves through this experience!
