Gifts to Anaya Guevara contribute to...
Hey my name is Anaya Guevara, a sophomore at Olivet Nazarene University. I am currently studying Kinesiology to become an Athletic Trainer. I am also a cheerleader at ONU, I participate in Olivet Naz OC3 and Latinos In Faith.
Being here at Olivet I can truly say that this place has helped me grow in my faith and relationships with God as well as has blessed me with such amazing relationships. In the new year for spring break, Shalom Project is organizing many ministry trips both in country and out. I am completely honored to have the privilege and opportunity to travel to Nicaragua to learn but also support from there community.
Nicaragua as you may know is the largest country in Central America, something’s that I love about Nicaragua that I’ve learned not just through research but also a friend of mine who’s native to this country, is that there culture reflects resilience, creativity, beautiful in its language but also in its nature but they have a true deep connection with there roots like there history, religion and of course the land. My team will be working on several different projects while we are there. Most may be physical but we will definitely be incorporating the spiritual as well. We will also be there for encouragement and learn more about there communities including the property in different areas.
We will be visiting homes, eating native meals as well as attending church, really getting to know the people. While this is a pretty big and exciting adventure, I will need help raising the funds to embark on it. I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support. I can’t wait to see how God works through this experience.
