About

The NSU Art Department serves as the creative hub for Northeast South Dakota. We provide students with a comprehensive education in the visual arts and prepare them for future careers. Through our galleries, exhibitions, and cross-disciplinary collaborations, we foster a culture of artistic appreciation and expression throughout campus. Our program includes a variety of emphases for student proficiency, including drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, sculpture, ceramics, graphic design, digital media, film and video, digital design, and art education. Our faculty cultivate students' technical skills, critical thinking, and artistic visions. To further these goals, we are asking for investment in the equipment within our programs.

The Art Department plays a vital role on campus. Our students often collaborate with programs including Marketing, Business, Communication, and Education, while filling our campus walls with their work. To better support the needs of our students in these collaborations and practice, we need to update our equipment to the industry-standard. A donation will allow us to provide the resources our students and campus need for successful experiential learning. Equipment could include cameras, ceramic wheels, monitors for digital media student work, printmaking combination press, mat cutter, tripods, and additional supplies. Investing in our department allows us to grow our program, provide further resources for our students, and engage with the broader campus community. The Art Department is vital in nurturing the next generation of creative thinkers and cultural leaders.
