Help Support the Immediate Assistance Fund for Undocumented Students

The Undocumented Student Resource Center (USRC) centers the experiences of undocumented and mixed-status students at NIU. The USRC coordinates support, advocacy, programming assistance, and referrals that support educational equity for undocumented and mixed-status students and their allies.

Donating to The Immediate Assistance Fund for Undocumented Students is a great way to help an UndocuHuskie earn a college education. This fund provides our students who are ineligible for federal financial aid small grants for emergency needs. These grants can help undocumented students pay for books, prescription glasses, or legal fees.

Created at the request of the Latino Alumni Council when members recognized the need to assist Huskies in paying some of the costs associated with attending NIU.

The Immediate Assistance Fund is unique because it goes directly to the students to offset essential costs. In the past, we have helped students pay for eyeglasses, crutches, books, partial rent assistance, DACA renewals, and legal fees.
