Division of Academic, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

The Division of Academic Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ADEI) provides many engaging educational and co-curricular experiences that enhance an inclusive and equitable campus community where everyone respects the value and dignity of all its diverse members.   

Your contribution will provide opportunities to close equity gaps and support student success by offering scholarships for first-generation in college students, expand culturally sustaining leadership development, create summer bridge programs, and much more! 

ADEI leads a wide array of university strategic goals towards equity-minded outcomes for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members. As a growing need to support our campus community, ADEI leads the campus towards the Hispanic Serving Institution designation and support for First-Generation College Students.

Our division further provides retention and student success outcomes through the Cultural and Resource Centers, the CHANCE Program, Native American and Indigenous Student Support, Social Justice Education (SJE), Faculty Academy on Cultural Competence and Equity, and is a leading partner in advancing NIU's Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation Center.    

Our goal is to ensure every Huskie is affirmed in their lived experiences while they strengthen our community as the next generation of leaders and scholars.
