The Idea Center at Miami Dade College

The Idea Center is the hub for innovation and entrepreneurship at Miami Dade College. We help students learn to build like entrepreneurs – through hands-on training, internships at real Miami companies, and direct support for those starting ventures of their own.

From an idea to a business with customers

Our student incubators are where an idea becomes a business. Students arrive with a concept, a prototype, or a side hustle. They leave with a real business – one with paying customers. They get there through boot camps taught by seasoned entrepreneurs, and by working one-on-one with a mentor who walks them through the hard parts – the confidence, the first pitch, the roadmap for growth.

Whether or not this first business is the one they build for life, what they learn here stays with them: how to spot an opportunity, figure it out with what they have, and make something people will pay for. Those are the people every employer wants and every city needs.
