Serving Student Veterans
Marietta College received the “Purple Star” designation from the State of Ohio in May 2023, emphasizing our student veterans, military-affiliated students, and their families importance on campus. We would like to continue this support by raising funds to sustain our newly opened Veteran & Military Student Center, establish a military student and dependent emergency fund, and provide monies for our student veterans to attend national conferences and collaborate with other student veteran groups.
Our MC Veterans website can be found here.
Student Veteran Funding Priorities:
- Veteran and Military Center sustainment costs: Dollars are used to help cover the cost of supplies, educational supports, coffee, drinks and snacks.
- Student Veteran & Military-Affiliated Student Emergency Fund: We would like to establish an emergency fund that would cover student emergencies (including their dependents). The need to replace a tire can be the difference between being able to travel to campus for class or even paying tuition. Helping with small emergencies is important to retention and graduation efforts.
- Experiential Education Fund: This fund would cover travel expenses and fees to attend annual conferences such as Student Veterans of America and the Naval Academy Leadership Conferences, collaborate with community veteran organizations on projects and events, to cover on-campus SVA and student veteran activities, speakers, and collaboration with other student veteran groups on community projects.

Your gift today will have twice the impact on our student veterans, thanks to the generosity of Trustee Jim Wilson '69 and Cindy Buck Wilson '70. They'll double your donation, up to $5,000 to honor the Pioneers who serve.
