Student Government Association: Fighting Period Poverty

Everyone deserves access to hygiene and healthcare products. Partnering with Aunt Flow, a company that works with organizations to offer period products to students and employees for free, Marietta College will join others in the OAC, in fighting period poverty. Your donations will subsidize a dispenser in a central bathroom in all main educational buildings, assuring students are prepared no matter when their cycle begins.

SGA, in collaboration with the college, recognize that period poverty is a concern on campus and one that if not addressed, could lead those menstruating to use products that aren’t sanitary or use them longer, leading to poor health outcomes.

• By offering free period products, Marietta College aligns with new legislation put forth by Ohio, requiring school districts to provide free period products, by continuing it at a collegiate level, and helping fewer experience period poverty.
• Aunt Flow is a national outreach which offers sustainable period products like pads and tampons for free to students and employees.
• SGA cannot create the change needed alone, we firmly believe through collaboration and the efforts of alumni and donors like yourself, we can make a substantial impact and achieve our goal of bringing Aunt Flow to Marietta College.
