Renovating the Heart of the Home

The Multicultural Center, located in the newly dedicated Barbara Diggs Lyles House, is a gathering place that promotes acceptance, and while the common areas have been updated, its kitchen is in need of some simple renovations. By adding storage, counter and table space, and adequate appliances, this campus space becomes a welcoming place to host a very diverse community.

The Center is already a hub of activity for engagement on diversity, equity and inclusion, and with your help it becomes a place where:

• Multicultural Potlucks are hosted and students prepare and share meals that represent their own cultural backgrounds and identities;
• Special events will utilize the kitchen, hosted by groups such as Brother 2 Brother (B2B), the Black Student Union, the LGBTQ+ Activism group and Global Connections;
• International students prepare and share dishes from home; students can assemble snacks for inclusivity programming and social activities.
