Macalester Black Bears men’s rugby is a passionate, committed, and welcoming team dedicated to building success both on and off the field. Most of our 30+ active players arrive at Macalester with no prior rugby experience—and we love teaching them everything we know! We’re incredibly proud of the Black Bear family we’ve created, uniting players, alumni, coaches, and fans through our shared love of the game.
This past fall, we finished first place in the Northern Lights Developmental League, topping opponents like the University of North Dakota, the College of St. Scholastica, and our recent rivals at Bemidji State University. After three straight losing seasons, this was an incredible testament to our hard work and a fantastic group of young players. Our success earned us a spot in the Heartland Bowl in St. Louis, where we proudly represented Macalester as one of the top four programs at our level nationwide!
We’re asking for your support to keep this momentum going through our spring development season and into next fall’s competition. Your donation helps cover rising player registration fees, supports our travel to away games, and helps us chase another shot at Nationals.
