Give to Macalester Days is an opportunity for the entire Macalester community to come together to support and celebrate the Macalester experience. You can direct your gift to what you care about the most! No matter which designation you choose, your gift goes directly to support Macalester students and the good they do in the world.
- Financial Aid: Support Macalester’s extraordinary commitment to financial aid, which allows us to provide students of all economic backgrounds access to a Macalester education.
- Program Support: Provide students with opportunities for growth outside the classroom – from arts performances to career development workshops to maker lessons in the Idea Lab – that make the Macalester experience special.
- Faculty Support: Sustain the incredible education that is one of the cornerstones of Macalester’s mission, including student-faculty research, curricular development, and the flexibility to pilot new projects and academic initiatives.
- Athletics: Help Macalester student-athletes build toward excellence with expanded efforts to support the whole athlete through nutrition and counseling services, student athlete leadership development, expanded recruitment, and more.
- Student Emergency Aid: Support Macalester students experiencing unanticipated financial hardships related to technology and academic supply needs, emergency travel, medical expenses, and more. These funds are administered through Macalester’s Emergency Aid Program.
- Racial Equity Support: Support Macalester’s work toward a more just and equitable campus and world. These funds are granted to projects through an application process open to students, faculty, and staff members.
- Support It All: Support everything you love about Macalester and allow Macalester to continue to strive toward living our values and educating tomorrow’s leaders.
What a week it has been! We are so grateful for your love of this place and our students.
Final numbers for the week are . . . drumroll please . . . 2,190 donors donated a total of $878,163 (including matching funds)
Some highlights of Give to Macalester Days 2022 include:
- 637 donors gave $170,320 to support Mac Athletics during our Mac Madness effort on March 31.
- Our on-campus giving day on March 31 was a great day of conversation and connection. Over 400 students, faculty, and staff made a gift. Thanks to all of you who participated and volunteered!
- The class of 2019 had the highest number of donors of any alumni class with 58 donors.
- Donors from 49 states (we’ll get you next year, Wyoming!) and a number of countries contributed.
- The dedicated efforts from alumni and student volunteers and our cross-campus partners, who helped rally their Macalester networks during GTMDs.
- The Board of Trustees, Alumni Board, and Parent Council all showed their leadership through creating matching funds, which helped drive excitement.
With 6 hours to spare, you helped us meet our goal of 2,000 donors! You are amazing, thank you so much! For any Scots who've not had a chance to chip in, you can still do so until midnight tonight.
