Your gift to Performing Arts at Longwood makes a difference! HOW?
MUSIC:
Scholarships for music majors Assisting talented students with the costs of higher education so they may fully engage in their academic endeavors while at Longwood.
Scholarships for ensemble members Encouraging non-music majors’ participation in our music ensembles by offsetting the cost of tuition. Students may apply for scholarships to receive private lessons, too, making them even stronger contributors to our musical groups.
State of the art equipment Supporting high-level teaching with the very best instruments and equipment.
Guest Artists, Speakers, Clinicians Bringing world-class guests into our classes, lecture rooms, and concert halls.
Productions Our new Minor in Music Theatre has strengthened the relationship between these two departments. The fruits of this pairing are fully staged musical productions, complete with pit musicians.
Student travel With proper funding, our ensembles can travel to exciting locations. Whether a trip abroad, or across Virginia, our ensemble members are the best ambassadors for Longwood! Most of all, giving to the Performing Arts at Longwood will make a difference in you. You can be proud of the support you give to young students who are walking the path you once walked. Contribute to an ongoing Longwood University; continue to make this a great place to learn! Dr. Lisa Kinzer, Chair
THEATRE:
"When you contribute to Longwood's Theatre Program, you help fulfill our vision of excellence. Our program changes lives and produces global citizen leaders who exemplify Longwood's mission. Our graduates and friends help share the load by lending financial support and insuring 'the show will go on'! Please consider any size gift, and thank you for making a difference." Dr. Ronda Scarrow, Theatre Department
New Equipment This year we are hoping to purchase a new soundboard that can cost upwards of $3,000 to support our student performances as well as teach students the technical side of productions.
