The Office of First-Year Experience is proud and grateful to welcome incoming students and their families to the campus community! Our role is to provide support and resources for the academic and social transition of new students and their families. We do this through both student and family orientation, communication efforts, programming, and one on one meetings with all students. We cannot do our work without the commitment of our incredible student staff who spend countless hours in training and professional development with us.
If you are able and willing to donate to support the OFYE, we are fundraising to support 2 main initiatives this year:
1) Community Development for Orientation Leaders & Camp Hawk Counselors: one of the things that makes our staff so amazing is the welcoming community they create for first-year students. To do so, we spend a lot of time investing in the team as individuals and building community on our staff. We hope to provide more opportunities for them to build community and support each other. They give so much back, and we want to appreciate them and give them opportunities to make the most of their leadership experience.
2) PreLUsion Scholarships for first-year students: preLUsion is a pre-Orientation experience offered in August for students starting in the fall. preLUsion provides first-year students with an opportunity to explore a topic of their choice and engage with students and staff members who share a similar interest.
