Gifts to Kappa Alpha Psi Honors Brotherhood contribute to...
Lehigh's greek community is often a community for life. Sisters and brothers whose bonds grow even after graduation day. Brothers of historically Black fraternity Kappa Alpha Psi live this particular Lehigh experience, and they have been for decades. They're serving as best men at each other's weddings. They're becoming godfathers of each other's children. They're even impacting lives with their own scholarship.
The Dr. Wayne Bethea and Terry Williams Kappa Alpha Psi Achievement Award Endowed Scholarship Fund
The Kappa Alpha Psi scholarship fund was created to support the very community ideals Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc. has demonstrated on Lehigh’s campus for the past 35 years. The fund includes the names of two founders of the Lehigh chapter of their fraternity. Two alumni who know the value of building communities of belonging. Members of Kappa Alpha Psi look to Dr. Wayne Bethea and Terry Williams for leadership and, along with two other lead donors Maurice Halllett and Lou Brown, camaraderie. There is a spirit among members of Kappa Alpha Psi that speaks to its legacy of foundational support and true brotherhood. For life.
The goal of the fund is to award a scholarship(s) to a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) sophomore or higher who displays leadership and commitment to increase opportunities for underrepresented groups and support a diverse student body.
Shape the next generation of BIPOC leaders — make a gift to the KAP scholarship.
